Installation process

Allowing for normal weather conditions and all necessary preliminary works, installation on a typical semi-detached house can take between 2 – 3 weeks.

Planning Requirements

As external wall insulation can change the appearance of a property, planning permission may be required.
This is particularly relevant in conservation areas and on listed buildings so advice should be sought from your local planning office prior to any works taking place.

If you insulate a solid wall you also have to make sure it complies with the current Building Regulations requirements in relation to thermal performance of your property – as a rough guide you will need around 90 mm of insulation to achieve this, dependant upon which insulation material is used.

Additional Home Improvements

If you are planning any other improvements (new windows, extensions, etc) it is advised to undertake these works in advance of the external wall insulation. We would be happy to quote or advise on any additional works required.

Preliminary Works & Installation

All preparatory works and adaptations (i.e. rainwater goods / waste pipes / overflow outlets / soil stacks / boiler flues / roof overhang / telecoms works / satellite dishes, etc.) are removed or adapted before installation.
Installed from scaffold, application will occur whilst you remain in your property and disruption is minimal, however, as part of the installation process drilling and mixing machines will be in use whilst work progresses.
